I posted this in the child support forum, but thought I would post here, too.
I kicked my verbally abusive husband of 19 yrs out,in April. I have 4 kids. He has only paid me sporatically, since he doesn't really have a job. He 'works' commision. In the 4 months he's been gone he has only paid me $380,total,and nothing for the past 4 weeks. He called last night, and said that he wanted to take my 15 yr old daughter to get some clothes, for school. He took her,and when we met today,I asked him when he would be giving me some child support. He said that the clothes count as his child support. We argued about it,and he left.
I'm currently waiting on some help from 'Friends of the Family' (a domestic violence group) They are trying to get a lawyer, for me,so I can get a divorce. We have nothing official yet.
I just wanted to know,,is he required to pay me child support, even though he hasn't made any money,at his commision job ? How can I prove he hasn't made any ? How will I ever know how/when he makes any ? And,,are clothes considered child support ? I need money,,to pay actual BILLS,,not clothes, for the kids !
