HI I',M Trying to figure out if I can move back to CO with my kids and then file a temp. order. I don't want to stay here for 4 more years until my kids finish HS If I stay I might as well stay married until then. My children are more then willing to move back home to CO but I don't know what kind of laws I would be breaking.
You can move to another state, but you must establish residency (which is 3 months-1 year, depending on the state) before you can file. In the meantime, he can file in MI as soon as you move, and the kids will have to come back.

not necessarily will the kids have to be returned. My ex helped me move out of MI w/ kids then tried to make me return before I had gotten residency established, he was unsuccessful.
As I recall, he helped you move, and you were able to show that did nothing to stop it in the beginning....which meant he approved the move in the eyes of the court.
