I would like to hear some insight about filing for divorce without getting an attorney. I had a consult with someone about a month ago, and her retainer fee is $2500 - way steep for me! This divorce will be uncontested, no property and no kids. How do I start?

just go on line illinios divorce or just go down to city hall. they have all the paper work they will give you samples you have to type them yourself.then file they will give you a court date. cost about $400 if the other person wont sign they will put in the paper .they have 30 days to reply.

Hello, I'm new to this and I ran across this question how to file for a divorce w/out an attorney. I am recently seperated from my cheating husband he wants to file w/out attorneys to save money, but everyones telling me that I will get the short end of the stick by doing that. He makes 70 a year and I make 10, I have the 2 kids he has his slut. Could you let me know what to do...I'm very confused and uninformed about what I'm suppose to do. Thank You, Jewel020809
