My wife and I are scheduled for the final divorce hearing tomorrow. We had already agreed on everything from the start. I find out today from her lawyer that she is wanting $27000.00 from a loan we got for a down payment on the house she is currently living in. She makes a lot more money than I do and I signed everything over to her including the house that had equity in it. We have agreed on everything until today so I did not get a lawyer. The hearing is tomorrow. What do I do? Should I show up or not? I now will have to get me a lawyer. Any help would be appreciated.
If you don't show up, you lose by defualt. Whatever she is asking for then, she will get. You need an attorney today. If you can't afford one, DO show up for court.
