Typically, you are entitled to 1/2 of what was purchased during the marriage, and also liable for 1/2 the bills (as in Credit cards).

Why should you be "entitled" to ANYTHING if your name is not on any "title" to the item in question? Isn't the purpose of titles. in the first place, to prevent any false claims or confusion in this regard?
I suggest you carefuly examine any alleged titles to the items in question for your name. If I were you, and could not find it thereon, I would forget about trying to finesse any legalized theft and GO TO WORK for living!

This poster may work 80 hours per week for all you know.
Also, as was the case in my divorce, my name was not on some credit cards, but they were used to purchase items during the marriage, so I was responsible for half. In what way is that unfair to you jbar? That would be different, right? It's not.
This poster asked about a mortgage and credit cards, usually debts, not a title or deed.

Samsung is right. All property aquired during the marriage as well as all debts are usually divided equal in divorce. was the house aquired during the marriage?
