My husband has aquired huge credit card debit due to addiction to perscription drugs. The cards are in his name alone. I am not listed on these accounts. Could I be responsible for this debt should we divorce? We live in Ga.
I agree with K. It most likely if proven what ran the cc debt up will be his debt but it all is in the hands of the judge. I would in mediation try to get him to agree to put it in his colunm. If he does not then it is totally up to the judge.
Good luck to us both for I have simular with a home equity line that my stbx keeps maxed so I can not use it. He spends the money on gf and house and her car etc.
thank you guys,to read this,Its reminds me same problem but its different,I have debt from our dentist and my husbnd doesnt help me at all but I was in his Insurance and I owe my Capital one.Before I get discremenate my life is doing well no problem at all no debt no nothing but when I losy my job I lost everything and my husband doesnt want to help me out and now he want to divorse me .That is my problem now and dont know what to do.I am desable for now no job dont drive!HELPPPPPPPPPPPPP... WELL THAT MY LIFE:(
