How to know if Texas Divorce Law applies to my cas

If we have been overseas for approx 17 years, last time living in the US was in TExas where we still own a home. Which law applies?? Do we have to own property there to be able to file a divorce in Texas??

Quoted directly from the residency requirements for divorce in Texas

"You must be a resident of Texas for six months and a county resident for 90 days to file for a divorce."
