Help...How can I get his attorney to stop delaying

I am divorcing my husband of 21 years. My attorney has proposed two Special Matter hearings and a four way meeting. None of these has occurred. This has been going on for 6 months without a single meeting taking place. What options do I have? What motions can be filed on my behalf? Does any party have a right to continually delay proceedings? Should I find another attorney who will be more aggressive?

>>>>>>>>> Is this due to scheduling conflicts or non-response ?

What options do I have? What motions can be filed on my behalf?

>>>>>>>>>>File motions for hearings on any disputed matters .

Does any party have a right to continually delay proceedings?

>>>>>>>> no , ask for reimbursed legal fees for delays , it may speed things up .

Should I find another attorney who will be more aggressive?

>>>>>>>>> depends on how far you are into the process and how long it'll take another attorney to "get up to speed " on the issues .

6 months isn't really that long for a disputed divorce , mine lasted well over 2 years .

Pressure via legal motions is not usually all that effective. You want to think about what would motivate him to stall and try and remove that. Or think about what would motivate him to move forward and try and manifest that.
