I have a friend who I have chatted online with for about the last 8 months. She just moved more local to where I live. She is a nurse, and is working right before and after Christmas. Her family lives about 9 hours away, so she cannot drive home for one day... well I invited her over for Christmas day.
She accepted. I am a little bit nervous about this. I have my kids... and have explained to them that this is just a friendly gesture.
I am hoping that we hit it off. I am a little leary about inviting someone I have never met in person into my home, and especially meeting my children.
So I am going to cook a nice Christmas lunch, any ideas what to do after? My kids want to make "hobo" dinners and cook them on our woodburning stove Christmas evening.
Any advice?

Shadow, it is really great that you invite someone into your home for Xmas that would otherwise be alone. I think it will be a great thing for the kids too! I am sure the kids will have plenty of ideas about what to do after lunch. What great chaperowns (sp) LOL

Thanks for all of the great ideas... doctor and nurse hmmm, not with my kids around  Just trying to get out of my comfort zone a bit and make some new friends. Maybe it will go somewhere and maybe it won't.
I need to get out of this man cave, it needs a womans touch.
