I have been seperated from my husband for 7 years. Our son was born before we got married and in March of 07 i filed for childsupport. In October they finally set a court date for January 9. My husband was served on October 30. About a 2 weeks before Christmas he got a lawyer and asked for a DNA test, we did that. Today January 8 i got a phone call from my childsupport guy saying that the results are in and my husband is the father. My childsupport guy has the lab results for court but not the legal form signed by a doctor. He contacted my husband asking if they would still proceed having the results just not the legal document. He said no and is going to show up at court without his lawyer asking for a continuance. I am going in their representing myself and am going to ask the judge to still proceed. He has known since October 30 about the date for court and so has his lawyer. A continuance could be at least another month. Does anyone have any advice for me on what i should say to the judge and or what my chances of getting this taken care of tomorrow. Any comments or help would be GREATLY appreciated

Continuence or not, he will be ordered to pay child support according to state guidelines, and will accrue an instant arrearage back to the day you filed.
