In Wisconsin how is it determined if a GAL is appointed? A friend going thru a divorce just noticed on the court website that a GAL was appointed yesterday. Does the court do this on their own? Or does one of the parties request it?

A GAL can appointed by the court under for many different reasons , usuallly when , custody is disputed .
