I know my ex is counting the seconds until May when one of our sons turns 18. My cousin, who lives in Lubbock, we are in Austin, said that apparently there is a new law in Texas (which is the case in a few states) that now he has to continue paying through college. But I can't seem to find anything and I really don't want to pay an attorney the $250 to get the question answered. Can anyone guide me?? Thanks.

I do believe that it is not the 18th birthday but when school is no longer a factor. If your son turned 18 in April support would go until the last month of school. No matter it will say in the divorce papers and any new law would not matter for old divorces. One example is Texas standerd weekday visitation used to be Wed. but was changed a few years ago to Thur. It only effected divorces after the day it became law.
