My husband and I have decided to legally separate and divorce. Its been a raging roller coaster ride of emotions. I have exhausted all avenues to try and salvage my marriage, but Im married to someone who can not communicate and is suffering either from PTSD or bi-polar disorder. I am originally from Oklahoma, what are my options to ensure a quick divorce. In germany, they don't grant divorces only legal separations, I want this behind me as soon as possible so I can cope and move on. There is no adultery, physical abuse or anything like that. Just two stubborn people that can't communicate and I have reached my limit. Any advise would be great. Thanks
broken0504, If the two of you can constructively talk to each other and divide up the assets without any hard feelings then the biggest issue is taken care of. If you have children that just makes thing a little more difficult. I would look into coming back to the states to your home of residence and file from there. Probably the easiest. If that doesn't work out to well go to the local JAG office for advice on getting a divorce performed overseas. Also look at the website below for more information on US citizens getting divorces overseas. http://www.travel.state.gov/law/info/marriage/marriage_641.html Good Luck
