A friend of mine just went through this with a 17 year old. You can not keep the child unless you have a court order to do so. Its a felony to interfere with court ordered custody. YOu can also be charged with harboring a runaway if the other parent calls the police and tells them that their child ran away. You HAVE to get an attorney or wait until the child is 18.
I have a attorney now and they have filed the paperwork. I had to go with him to his school and get him in a school in my neighborhood. I know his mom will be mad but we do not live in the same neighborhood. And in Fort Worth, TX - you have to go to a school where you live.
a friends child moved with his dad for a little while got in trouble and wanted to move back. Now he is back with his mom. The kid got into with his dad and the kid shot the dad's car up as well as flatten the tires. Can my friend use that to keep from paying child support again? Or if the kid goes to Juvenile will the dad have to pay again. He is afraid to log in and create a question to find out what to do so I am asking for him?
