How to find low- or no-cost attorney?

I have a friend who is currently going through a nasty divorce. She is unable to work due to disability (this disability also keeps her from being able to handle the divorce pro se), and living on what I understand is the minimum possible spousal support allowed by our state (keeping her under the poverty line). Her husband is rather wealthy and well-connected, and using every tool at his disposal to make sure that his wife receives nothing in "equitable distribution".

I would like to see my friend have a decent life when this process is over, but her spousal support doesn't even pay for her medical care, let alone a lawyer. I am researching on her behalf since her disability prevents her from being productive much of the time. What options does she have for finding low-cost or no-cost legal representation? She is both disabled and a victim of domestic violence; surely there must be some organization out there that can provide assistance. I just don't know where to look.

She probably should have gone to a domestic shelter when the abuse occured, and the state would have provided legal assistance. I'm not from Florida, so I don't know what, if any resourses are available.
