I live in WI and my STBX and I have a 14 1/2 yr old son. Our son is close to both of us and has requested equal time and only a few days away from either parent. I suggested alt 7 day periods w/ 2 mid week evenings and joint placement and joint legal custody. My STBX suggested placement with her and I may have every other weekend. Bless her selfish little heart!
The GAL recommended joint placement and joint legal custody w/ alt fri/sat/sun and every mon. and tues. w/ mom and every wed and thur with me. Her report was very thorough and specific. I believe this is in our son's best interest and I agree with it, however I do not believe my STBX will be very happy.
My question is will the judge most likely go with the GAL's recomendation? There is no unusual cercumstances other than my STBX is a selfish control freak. We will all still be living in the same city and school district only a few miles apart etc. Any input is appreciated!!
I think the judge will go with it if: 1/ Your voice your support for the plan. It's a good plan. We use that schedule and it works well. 2/ You don't call your STBX a selfish control freak.

Yes I think the schedule is better than my proposal because our son is close with both of us and never been away from one while with the other for more than 3-4 days at a time. I do like it and have already voiced that through my attorney to the GAL and the judge.
And no I do not refer to her as a selfish control freak to anyone accept my attorney and a close friend who already knows this fact because he grew up with her. lol!
