During separation before divorce is finalized, is salary income considered common assets and should be divided between the two parties? If so, one can never buy any property that is not subjected to be divided. Is that true? Please advice.

yeah! and the part that stinks is when one party has the $$ and makes purchases and either puts them in the GF's name or his sisters name! i HATE that!
