I am fighting with my ex about visitation and want to take her to court, but do not want to hire an attorney. How do I file for a court date.

Very difficult to do a custody battle in court without a lawyer - In addition to complicated legalities it is really helpful to have a professional represent you through what invariably becomes very emotionally charged proceedings.

Have you considered mediation?

You file a motion for modification of parenting time.

Mediation is mandatory in NJ. If mediation fails, then the case will go to trial.

You file a motion for modification of parenting time. Here are a few motions that people do by themselves - very easy to fill out. You just need to make sure you get the correct form.

A Motion to Increase or Decrease Child Support payments.
A Motion to Change the Visitation/Parenting Time arrangements in your case.
A Motion for Reimbursement of Medical Expenses.
