My friend has been separated more than 3 years. Married more than 10 years to him. He has 17 in the military and always said would retire at 20 but she is unsure.
can she draw from his pension before he retires? I know with my job my stbx cannot touch her part of my pension until i retire.

I'm not a military expert, but as I recall, if he quits before his 20 years is done, he gets no pension. Therefore, there is no pension to take at this time.
No, she cannot draw on his retirement prior to his retirement. And it is correct that in most cases if he gets out prior to making his 20 year mark he would not receive a retirement.
