Help need answer ASAP re pre trial hearing

I need to know if all parties attend the pre trial hearing or is it just the attorneys setting a date for trial. His attorney says yes my attorney says I don't have to be there.

Depends on the purpose of the hearing. If it's just to schedule the trial, then they usually like to check everyone's availability. Often though, attorneys attempt to reach some sort of settlement prior to going to trial. Trials are expensive. But make attorneys wealthy.
