From CNN:

MARIETTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A judge Monday sentenced one of two women dubbed the "Barbie Bandits" and a teller who helped them rob the bank where he worked.

Ashley Miller, convicted of theft and drug distribution, was sentenced to the maximum 10 years. She has to serve two years behind bars, with the remainder on probation.

She also has to pay at least $2,500 in restitution.

Benny Herman Allen III, who at the time of the February 2007 robbery was a teller at the Bank of America in Acworth, Georgia, also was sentenced to the 10-year maximum.

He's required to serve five years behind bars and pay $2,500 in restitution.

============================================================

She is convicted of theft and drug distribution and serves only 2yrs behind bars? Check out the male teller's fate for being an accomplice to the theft part. Hmmmmmmmm.

Yes, this is so typical. Even worse than the fact that it happens is the fact that it doesn't raise an eyebrow except amomg a few men, like ourselves, who have been sensitized to such outrages by having personally been the butt of similar "thinking" ourselves!

In the politically correct translation program of the feminists, "equal treatment" becomes "female oppression" if the equal treatment in question means equal punishment of a woman for a crime, a requirement that she have demonstrably, and equally, created the wealth built during a marriage before she can claim half in a divorce, an equal requirement for maintaining herself after a divorce or an equal share of child custody rather than receiving the "lion's share" of it!

Don't even get me started on things like the fact that women have an exclusive right to decide if they will have an abortion, rather than an equal one with the father, or that women don't have to register for the draft and men do!

You are looking for discrimination where there is none.

The EMPLOYEE was treated more severely because he abused a position of trust with his EMPLOYER. If I was a judge, I would treat such a person more harshly. The gender would be irrelevant.

Had it been the female who was the employee and not the male, she would have gotten the same treatment.

The fact of this case is the woman not only was the theft, but also drug trafficking and still got less time behind bars than the man. Are you saying gender discrimination does NOT exist WRT judgements (especially, when it comes to criminal cases)?

Are you saying that the person who was an employee was not in a trusted position and didn't abuse that trust?

In this case, your argument doesn't hold water.

>>>> "In this case, your argument doesn't hold water."

Perhaps this is why ...

"Benny Allen -- the teller -- was sentenced to 10 years and will serve five. The judge imposed an additional penalty on Allen because she said he did not testify truthfully in the trial of Michael Chastang, another co-defendant who went to trial and was convicted of his role in plotting the heist."

So, because he didn't testify truthfully, he got slapped with a sentence behind bars 2.5x that of the woman by the "female" judge. Of course, the woman also had a drug trafficking conviction, but that just got rolled into her 2yr prison sentence.

Hey, maybe he can get out in 2yrs with good behavior? Of course, she could probably get the same treatment and be out in, oh, I dunno, 2 months?
