I am divorced 10 years and remarried for 6 years my husband was offered a fantastic job in another state about 500 miles away. My girls have a limited relation with their dad who lives around the block now and rarely sees them. My agreement states 50 miles for children to remain to both parents. How can this affect my move?? I intend to have the kids back in the summer months and holidays since my family is here also. There are many items in our agreement over the years that my ex is in non complaince with.. Can anyone advise what can happen in a situation as this??? Thank you

It won't effect your move at all, but more than likely the kids will have to stay. Getting a court's approval to move children out of state is very difficult, to near impossible in some jursidictions. Your best bet is to get your ex to agree to it.
I do understand I need to have a conversation with my ex...It is very hard for me to accept for years I have raised my daughters to be great kids with little help from their Dad and he would have the power to stop us legally when he currently lives around the block and doesnt call them once a week to have dinner with them.....Wish me luck having a positive conversation with him. Thanks for your insight on this
I agree with Samsung. Talk to x. It could be that he will be glad to get rid of the guilt of not seeing them enough, since now they will be out of state. I hope it works out for you. Let us know.
