Not Sure What To Do

I am about to turn 30, mother of two great kids, and am about to step into a divorce. My husband and I have been together 10 years (the last 5 have been very rocky). I am not sure how to handle things and what steps to take to protect myself and the kids.
(I make more money than he does and I would want majority custody of the kids.)
Does anyone have any suggestions or know places to go for help??

Marsham,

If you are sure that your marriage is over, then you need to take the next step and find yourself a good attorney. I was advised to interview at least three attorneys before making a decision. Go online or check out a book from the library, and arm yourself with a list of questions to ask each one at the initial consultation. Go with the one who comes off as experienced, and who you feel most comfortable with. It is sad, but once you reach the point of no return, you’ve got to have the best attorney looking out for your interests. It’s make or break time! Good luck.

Income and custody have no relationship to each other. It's who has carried out the role of primary parent, rather than primary provider that gets custody.
