I am going through a divorce in Hawaii( I am stationed there). I am active duty USMC enlisted. My wife is now asking for alimony. She is in S.C. and we have been married for 12 years and seperated for 21/2 years. She has a B.S. degree and makes the same amount of money as me. She has worked the entire time we were married. Actually she makes more if you count the 700.00 a month I give her from our seperation agreement. What are the chances of her getting alimony. We have no childeren and no property together. I think she is just trying to drag things out as long as possible to keep her ID card and benifits
From my knowledge of alimony and I do not know the laws in your state, but she would have to prove some kind of need or that you did something to the marriage like an affair.
If there was an affair and you openly admit to it then you will be paying alimony, if she has proof then you might as well just not fight it. I would get a very good family law attorney. Good luck
