Is it just me, people, or does anyone else smell "troll"?
emllc's responses seem to be about a tenth of what I would expect from a normal "on-line" thread discussion. Nothing I can quite put my finger on yet, but I think that she (he, posing as she?) may be doing some exploring other than what she says she is...
I could be totally wrong, and--if so--I apologize. But, since the Internet is a fairly anonymous place, and you can't see the other person's face, or hear the emotional content of their speech, I think we're all allowed to be a little...querulous.
BTW, emllc, although I do not have special needs children, I suffered through "emotional abandonment" for quite a while. I was tempted to stray, but did not. And even for THAT, I got hell from a number of people here.

So where are your children when you are with this other man? Thats what gets me the most. My husband was off in hotel rooms with another women during the summer while I was at work and the kids were home from school. So instead of spending time with them he was spending time with her. Thats the kind of crap that pisses me off. I can and will defend myself and get justice when I go to court, but my kids can't. Your selfish, plain and simple. Your kids should matter to you more than anyone or anything, and from the way it looks of it they don't. So like others said, get your s h i t and go. My husband will not leave our house and continues to see the OW openly. If you think that doesn't suck.
