I am not able to log on from work right now, so pease excuse my absence.

I am also in NIRVANA...literally.

I am on vacation at the moment, in Santa Fe.

I came here two days ago and am leaving tomorrow.

This morning I went to a spa. Spa Nirvana, my body has been oiled, massaged, exfoliated, invigorated and damn well pampered for over three hours today. All while I tossed back a lovely champagne of course.

I came to Santa Fe to meet a man that I had been chatting with on the internet. We talked for over three months and we finally met on Friday.

He sent me pics, lots of them. I loved his pictures....Then he showed up at my hotel as planned and I finally REALLY saw him.

Was not good.

He has wretched teeth. Really wretched teeth.

Was hard to look at this man, who I was crazy about over the internet. I was disappointed.

But we had planned to go to breakfast together, so I went with him.
We sat across from eachother at the table laughing like old friends.

And them something amazing happened.
I forgot about his teeth.
I forgot everything but how much fun he was to talk to, and how much I loved his personality.

I am far from perfect, my physical defects are MANY.

So a few days later, I am still euphoric. I cannot believe that this amazing, wonderful person is actually crazy about me too.
I am getting a little teary eyed just writing this.

And to be completely honest, bad teeth and all, I cannot stop kissing him. And the spa day, a suprise treat from him!

The connection we have is so real, so graspable,

My forum family, I AM IN LOVE!!!!

Please wish me luck!

Guin -- yeah!!!! My new man has discolored teeth. It was a bit of a turnoff the first couple of times, but then I found out that this discoloration was caused by the radiation treatments he underwent five years ago for throat cancer. He's been cancer free since, and I couldn't care less that he has grayish teeth. He's alive, and he's mine!

Good luck!!!

Beauty comes from within. Are all of your friends beautiful? Of course not. The older we get, the more we look where it really matters. I'm happy for you!

Age brings on battle scars. We need to remember when we're looking at everyone else's scars, that our own reflection in the mirror is not the same as it was 20 years ago. It helps to find out the source of a particualr scar.

I've talked about this before, how dating as an adult with a little experience has the advantage of knowing a person's history. Often, their history shows up on thier face. Finding out the source of bad teeth can clue you into whether you're dating a skid row bum who is experiencing a period of recovery, a person who survived chemotherapy, or an ambitious immigrant whose homeland had very poor dental health care systems. Each of those histories can be good for some potential mates, bad for others.

I'd rather take an experienced adult survivor with bad teeth any day over a young adonis playboy who hasn't had to ever survive hardship and whose bad habits hadn't had a chance to catch up with him yet!

YAY Cheffie!
