I got a note from the teacher the other day that the kids are making mothersday presents and she needs a picture of her mom and her together. I do not have any. I asked mom if she could take care of it but the deadline is friday and she still doesn't have any at school. The things we never think of.
Look in the old pics... even if it is one from when your daughter was little, you might have one... call your momma and see if she has any from when your daughter was a baby.... WORST case... send in a pic of just your little girl. It will be hard to be the odd man out w/o a momma pic, BUT it beats not having a pic at all!!! and having to watch the rest of the class work on cards and she has nothing.
For future reference, you want a photo of her and her mother in a frame on her nightstand in her room, and you want her to have a photo of yourself and her in her mother's house on her nightstand in her room.
And for years, teachers have been dealing with single-parent issues. Ask the teacher to help smooth it over if her mother hasn't provided a photo. The school probably all knows how the woman showed up at lunch every day & was causing problems... they know your daughter has special issues that will cause emotional trauma over her mother's odd form of caring. If the teacher is young & at a loss, ask for suggestions from the school counselor.
