It takes two healthy people and a healthy relationship. Either of those elements can go wrong for a whole lot of reasons.
Very, very few of the reasons are entirely due to just women.

Being perfectly honest, I don't know how much is due to the woman, to the man, to some outside force, etc.
And, I am NOT saying EVERYTHING that goes wrong with a relationship is due to the woman, and that men are somehow immune to fault.
What I am saying with this particular thread is that perhaps those things I've stated previously can be a direct result of the problem (or are in conjunction with other things that lead to the problem).
What astounds me is that it is a significant change (40%) in such a short amount of time (10 years). And, quite honestly, the more I think about it the more I wonder if the internet IS directly linked to the problem in some way as the time frames match almost identically (for the most part).

But is that time frame really accurate? Meaning, could it be that people are just more honest and open now in regards to sexual relations than they used to be? Maybe it's more of a generation thing...baby boomers are now in their 50's and generation X is hitting their 30's.
I know I'm a lot more open about sex with my kids than my parents ever were with me. My 13 year old was asking me some questions tonight that I wouldn't have EVER asked my mom and after I gave him the information he was asking about he wanted to know where I got information when I was his age. It sure wasn't my parents...and my husband (who is a tad older than I) is usually mortified that my kids ask me such things he deems inappropriate to talk about in front of your "mother".

Yes, you're right. And the fact that Generation X's are now doing those surveys, not just the baby boomers means you're getting a whole new generation of people more open to discussing their issues, hence the increase. But always rmember, it's just one survey out of millions and they all say different things and hypothesize over different theories.
By the way, my comment about the internet was misinterpreted. I meant that if you look on the internet, you can find a lot of research on this subject and health issues are a huge cause.

I didn't mean for any misinterpretation - I just saw the word "internet" in the post you wrote and a light bulb went in my head that said maybe there is a connection. If so, could it be that men (and women) are spending more "free" time online instead of with each other? And/Or, are men now getting more access to information, such as with MRA sites that further facilitate a psychological "wall"? And/or are women finding more information online that - I dunno the best way to say it - help bolster their "liberation", which in turn shuns the male partner more? And/Or ... ?
