I am so sorry about what you are going through. But you are in good company. The hardest thing to do, and you must do it, is take care of yourself. It will be hard, but you need to do that. I too was told by my wife that she wanted a divorce. I loved her tremendously, and it hurt really bad to hear those words. I actually went numb for about 2 days. She insisted on continuing to live with me in the same house and trying to enjoy the last few months of our marriage. (She has some serious codependency issues compounded with other psychological issues). Being so hurt, I welcomed it. It was a mistake. I felt weak by asking for a hug from the one who hurt me. I felt cheap for making love. I felt used for allowing the relationship to be on her terms only.
The pain you are going through is devastating. I know because I am there as well. It hurts worse than anything in the world. And you feel so far away from everybody.
