I have filed for an uncontested divorce without an attorney. Now I need one to do the deposition that states we have been separated for a year. Has anyone else run into this problem? Does anyone know what I can do? Could I find an attorney pro-bono for something like this? Thanks

Should still be able to do that with mediation. I know with my wife and I, we set the separation date back to the last time we had a 'physical' relationship.

i've actually been separated a year and already have a marriage settlement agreement drawn up. the only thing holding me back is the deposition with a lawyer stating that everything is correct. i was trying to do the whole procedure without a lawyer, but i ran into this problem. i literally only need the lawyer to state that we have been separated a year and that is it. i don't want to end up spending a ton for just that.

I thought the deposition is for a friend to testify that verify the claims in the proposed decree -- most important, you've separated for over 1 yr.
