My X refuses to take my daughter to soccer even though the doctor said it was good for our daughter. X says she doesn't believe it because it's not in writting even though she was there. Same with the psychological visits. The doctor gave me the letters but charged me a fee. Shouldn't I be able to get all of the fees back from my X on this?

Had to add a question.

If I get the doctors to testify in court they have to get paid for there time right? And if so if I win my case shouldn't X have to pay there time?

You can ask for her to be required to pay, but isnt' she mostly judgment proof? I mean, poor and not paying anything anyways? No point to suing someone for money if they don't have it to pay.

From now on, whenever you're in a doctor's office and they recommend something, could you ask them to make certain they write it up in thier progress notes that they said this or that and hand a copy to you so that your unreasonable ex will have it in writing?

She's a nutcase, and yes, you probably would get the judge to order her to pay it if she's being unreasonable. At the very least she should pay her proportion of it as being part of the medical expenses, and you should certainly explain that THIER particular medical bill was neccessitated becasue she was being such a witch about things that she wouldn't take what the doc said in person to her unless they also put it on paper... that might get the judge to order this for you... and hte same with their testimony... if she refuses to accept their authority and makes them testify, then you can certainly tell the judge that her demands are unreasonable and the judge will see it for him or herself and PROBABLY order her to pay the costs...

HOWEVER, like I said, if I remember, your ex is a deadbeat in more ways than just this... You'll still have to pay the bills and hope for reimbursement by her, because the docs are not required to wait for HER to be responsbile, they're ALSO allowed to go after you for payment... so ... if that is the main reason you'd go to court on it, it's not a good bet. On the other hand... if you're going to court on these other issues, on the other pile of medical expenses that she's not reimbursed for, in her refusal to follow the diet, her refusal to tkae the kid to extracurriculars, her showing up at the school and disrupting things regularly... well... then it's worth throwing a request for costs in as an ADDITIONAL request (knowing full well that it's going to be nearly impossible to collect on).

My doctor charges a $20 fee for filling out unnecessary paperwork if I don't get it at the time of the visit...how much is yours charging?

$20 bucks isn't bad but mine charged $55. I even called and confermed what the charge was for. Now that I think about it I'm going to call back and make sure it wasn't for medical records my X requested because that does seem high.
