Thanks for all of your advice. Things seem to be working out for now, and when I retire I am not going to rush out and take the first job out there. I will take my time and figure out what makes me happy. It's not like I am not collecting a salary in the meantime. 50k per year is nothing to sneeze at. She will just have to make due knowing that my primary concern in life is the well being and happiness of my children, myself and my wife and stepson. All of these things will be taken into account. Hopefully by then she will have a job herself so she won't feel it as much.
