Hi Folks...I recently moved from Arkansas to Texas as I am terrified of my stbe. I sought some legal advice from a very renound attorney who gave me some very sound advice. He told me first to look up the courthouse records online from the county in arkansas where my husband currently lives and where I moved from to see if my husband has filed for divorce. I really doubt that he has since he cheated on me and has so much to lose and I have a mountain of evidence against him however, I want to be certain. I began to do some research and immediately hit many brick walls as many of the so called "free" courthouse record sites are NOT FREE. So, my question is does anyone know how to access the real "free" courthouse divorce records and the procedures on how to access them. I have found out real quick that this divorce thing is going to be quite a challenge. I have been married for 23 years and never would have thought I would have found myself getting divorced. Thank you in advance to anyone who can be of assistance. Any of you who are believers, I would really appreciate your prayers too, and especially for my 21 year old daughter. She is taking this very hard although for many years she has tried to get me to leave him...he is extremely controlling of both of us. She is in a committed relationship and is attending college so she could not come with me but she does see me regularly. He is doing everything to attempt to poison her mind against me which is one reason that I would not leave her when she was little along with a whole list of other reasons. His failed attempts are not working as she loves us both very much. I am determined not to put her in the middle of this very huge mess. My husband and I co-own a private investigation business and he has already begun to get very nasty by cutting me out of certain business accounts and various others things as I knew that he would. It is amazing how a persons true personality really comes out when you go through something such as this. The lawyer asked me yesterday if I was sure that I was not going to return to him. I told him that I couldn't be more positive...this has been a long time coming and what really held me there was my obligation spiritually. When he broke that, I was very relieved that I was no longer obligated to stay in the marriage. I took our vows very seriously. He is not interested in marriage councelling as he believes it is a waste of money. He told me that I could go if I wanted to but he was not going. I knew there was no point in that because it takes two people to repair the damage and I know that he is not the blame for everything that went wrong in our marriage but he certainly is responsible for breaking up our marriage. Again, I appreciate your time and prayers and any words of encouragement or advice you can give and especially if you know how to access those"free" court records.
Sincerely,
RN

The Polk County Circuit Court has limited online sevices , you won't find anything about a divorce filing . You can try and call the court clerk for info , this may/may not work .

Polk County Court Clerk

If a divorce has been filed and you've been served you can accesss the state courts website to find the docket info here :
