The Spousal Support Handbook The Spousal Support Handbook ($28.99)
Unlike child support, spousal support is often very difficult (if not impossible) to modify after the divorce is final, so getting it right the first time is a must!

File a temp. restraining order and file a motion for temp spousal support. What he is doing is illegal. You need an attorney if you cannot do this yourself.

Do you have that threat in writing (e-mail, text)? Or on a voicemail? If so, get a restraining order. You can still get one, it's just going to be harder if it's a he said she said situation. With a voicemail, e-mail/text, it's more than that and easier.

I was reading your stuff, and It sounded like me a while back.I just want to say that you first need to pick up your self asteem, and get some confidence. Then you need to decide if you want to divorce him.or maybe get a job for yourself. He might not like the confidence in you when you get it,but you will need this first. Then you will know more what you want to do.

Take 2: I too am having problems looking for a lawyer - pro bono or some arrangements but no immediate cash retainer upfront.
My issue: In March 2007, the court 'erroneously' set my montly income at $7,500 instead $7,900 yearly (IRS, SSA EARNINGS, PAY STUBS to support income. The court ordered $4300/mo cs support!??? At the start of my divorce proceedings, all legal custodianship were placed under my spouse. All assets have been repossesed/ foreclosed. I am unemployed - disabled since 2005 but recieving private pension/annuity of $800-SSa DED still pending for more than a year. My ex earns appx $3,000/month - mismanaged and lost all our properties literally. 14 months later I found my document to support my position- court errors. - Fed Tax returns SSA earnings statement which reflects my income much lower during the said divorce litigation period - only a fraction. Unrepresented I filed a motion to set aside based on the tax returns. DENIED, due to an earlier motion for reconsideration was denied. However, judge mentions i can file anew a motion for modification.
The divorce is set for 'bifurcated status' next month. and motion for modification much later. Quest: is there a statute of limitation to condone arrears past due and current cs support based on a modification of income from $7,500/month ($90,000 per annum) vs. $800/month ($9,000 per annum) What other remedies can i have? Spousal support to my favor? atty. fees(spouses's) etc. thanks.

Do you want to file a motion for spousal support? yes , now covered under the case /issue in chief- motion for modification.
all asseys lost -- An equal division of assets?

Not anymore since December this year. Are there children involved? "legal custodianship". as mentioned above this is temporary but neverthess , a thing of the past, she failed to pay obligations.
