A civilized divorce

My wife and I after 21 years of marriage, have decided to separate and go our own way. We have 4 kids. The ages are 20,16,12,12.

I know I have to pay child support for all the minors. I am also willing to give her half the house, which she doesn't even want that. She is not a money grubber and we agree on everything as far as who will get what.
If I give her half the house and child support, does she still get alimony even if she doesn't want it?
Also am I better off getting a martial separation agrrement first or going thru mediation?
