plumbing!! i had beer in my fridge that was well expired. so i decide to throw it out. didn't want to throw it in teh trash can outside cus i had visions of it gettint hot and exploding. (this IS south louisiana after all). so i open then and pour them down the sink. 5 of them. no big deal right? deed done. till i turn on the water a little while later and omg was the sink backed up!
i tried everything!. vinegar adn soda, the stuff you buy at the store, you name it. went on this way for a week. it wouldn't budge. frankly, i figured after all that beer that it just needed a good belch, but i stil don't know how to make a sink belch!. when i got home that friday night i finally piled my dirty dishes into a laundry basket and was taking them to a friends house. before i left i called a friend whose a fix it guy who thank god just happened to be in town not far away. he came over adn within 5 minutes had it working.whew!
next time i'll just drink the damed beer!

Beer expires????? I don't think I ever knew that. Of course, it isn't usually in the fridge all that long anyways, so I'll never have to worry about that!

cwag,

I'm with you there...paint can transform. After much trial and error, I can wallpaper too, even got the corners down now. First wallpapering job I did was back in the late nineties. I stayed up through the night to finish. In the morning around 7ish I’m there doing the finishing touches, and the stbx walks in the room and cuts up laughing. Yep, somewhere in the middle of the room the vertical stripes had took a turn for the worst and ended up diagonal.

omg i LOVE It!!! is it still there?? <g>

btw, i also tackled changing light fixtures. with a friend. i had explicit directions that a good friend of mine from va had emailed me. it WAS a bit of a lucy and ethel moment. but we did it! i had brought over 2 vintage light fixtures from my old house.. only problem was the little thing that goes in the ceiling that they attach to was different, so after much trial and error we finally figured out that was the problem, adn several trips to lowes later they were done.
AND we got quite a few giggles after learnign the names for the parts: knew about nuts, didn't know there were also hickeys and nipples as well; obviulsy, all hardware has been named by horny old men!!

If "hickeys and nipples" were named by horny old men, with all due respect, who named the "ball bearings", "finger socket", and so many other things in that same store??? (Please know I am just trying to keep the humor going here cwag).
