50-50 split of marital assets and debts. Joint custody with an age-appropriate visitation schedule. Child support as per your state's worksheet. If one has been financially dependent on the other long term, temoporary spousal support to help them make the transition back into the workforce.

Thanks for the advice. What about claiming the children on taxes, putting a 100 mile radius on where either of us could move, and other stipulations in the papers that would benefit the whole divorce and make it as equal as possible?

Joint custody implies that you will agree on major parenting decisions. Where the children live would definitely be considered a major parenting decision.
The usual boilerplate language for relocation is that you can't move the children out of state without consent. 100 miles might make sense to you but state lines make more sense to the legal system.
I would strongly recommend that you have your agreement stipulate that parenting decisions on which you cannot agree be decided by an independent arbitrator. Arbitration is quicker and less expensive than visits to court. Many of these arbitrators are child psychologists and thus do a better job of advocating the child's best interests than a judge and a couple lawyers can.

When she kicked me out of the house, i was only able to come up with a one bedroom apt and believe me that stinks going from a 2400 sq ft house to a 900 sq ft apt. When I file will I be in a position to ask for joint custody seeing that I am in a one bedroom apt. I can't buy another house until the divorce goes through, so i am stuck with the apt for know. When the divorce is finall, I will then purchase a house. Thanks.

It probably depends on what she fights you on as far as your living arrangements & how many kids there are. For joint custody it probably doesn't matter what the size of your apt is if she has physical custody. As far as claiming on taxes, my ex gets to claim 1 every year as long as he is up to date on his cs & when oldest one turns 18 we have to rotate every other year claiming younger child.

Yes, absolutely. Having a dad trumps having square footage.
You seem a bit tentative about joint custody. Do you have any indication that she will ask for sole custody? Do you want her to have sole custody? Do you want sole custody?
