Hey everyone...just thought maybe you could all give me some words of encouragement for this upcoming weekend. My ex has our son for the 4th...well I have him the 4th until 6pm but then he goes with the ex. Anyway, I'm hopoing you can help me get through it because I know he's going to take him to the fireworks with the 23 year old girlfriend. When things like this happen I get so darn angry because I feel she should not be able to spend any holidays with my son...I should...I know, I know, it sounds petty but that's just how I feel. Hopefully this weekend goes by fast so I get through it fine. I am working all weekend so hopefully that helps to take my mind of it. Thanks guys:)

Jenn

Aw, Jenn. It doesn't sound petty at all. That would make anybody nuts. Why don't you try to make plans for the weekend when you're not working to keep yourself busy?

The 4th will be a tough one for me, too. I have such fond memories with my stbx on the 4th, and I can't recall even one of them that he ruined because he was intoxicated (a rarity for him!). I'll be right there with you... and we're all here if you want to talk.

Jenn plan something with your friends to do. I know
how hard it is to lose your kids on holidays. Take this
time for Jenn. Of course, we will all be here for you if
you need us.

Yes, spend it with friends. They won't let your mind "wander."

All my friends and my ex are going to Florida for a huge private fireworks show.
Maybe I can dig up a sparkler and run around the yard with it.

I don't think it is petty at all either.

My ex is supposed to have our son for the 4th too.

We have had the same holiday tradition for the 4th of July and I hate the thought of not doing it together as a family this year.

Divorce sucks.

Well, I'll be wearing my chaps. Does "that" count?
