Unlike child support, spousal support is often very difficult (if not impossible) to modify after the divorce is final, so getting it right the first time is a must!
This wouldnt work for most of you. But i just thought of this the other day. I think it's nuts that because i made so much more than my wife, she's entitled to 1/2 of certain things since it was ME that paid for them. (plus an enormous amount of alimony i'm sure.)
then you would have people say well she paid for 'something' with her money so you could buy those other things so she's entitled to half.
So i just thought, why not look up all the money she made in salary and SSD since she's known me and just agree to pay her every single dime back plus maybe 3% interest on it?
sounds too simple to be true eh? Maybe ill bring it up with my atty thursday :)
I just cant see a flaw in the plan really. Oh, it's not legal im sure lol. Then the appreciation of pension would come into play but she said she will be dead by then anyway so what's the point?
