As long as men allow the women in their lives to make most of the spending decisions, stuff like this will continue...

Until other men are like him and speak up and let Mad Ave know, the advertisers will continue to cater to what they think are the female tastes (and the teenage tastes... which as we know are all about thinking the parents are all wrong about everything anyways)

And you mean to tell me that most men believe they live in a "free" country?
A ridiculous assumption that men aren't able to make decisions that are traditionally women's....tradition is off the table in this day and age.

They can make the decisions but they can't enforce them.

A rare man? You have just enforced this stereotype with that statement. I had to teach my X how to comparison shop and explain coupons. I cook, clean,do the shopping and the laundry. I also sew *GASP* take the children clothes shopping and take them to the doctors. I am the homework helper, I have never missed one back to school night, parent teacher conference or spring concert. WOW! I managed to pull all that off! A drunken, inept, neanderthal man such as myself. Incredible! I can't even imagine how I managed to do all of that and still have time to do all the exterior/interior home maintenance, take care of the pool and Coach baseball every year. What a baffoon I must be.I can't believe I actually worked full time too.

Your Husband isn't rare. There are millions of us just like him, myself included. The Husband/Father role is down played and most, if not all, of our efforts are ignored.Main stream media enforces it more and more. Guilty by association.

Jebus H on a pogo stick! Your husband knows how to go grocery shopping and you make it sound like he split the atom! See what I mean?

THAT is the kind of uphill battle that men face when it comes to equalizing a lot of the issues. Gigi appears honest when she says she supports a lot of Men's Rights, but this is the kind of mindset that still exists and needs changing. What's MORE disturbing is that it's the mindset of MEN that need changing a lot more than women (at least, initially). Many (most?) men today still have the chivalrous attitude and think no matter how much they are screwed by "the system" or women in particular, they somehow DESERVE IT!!! How asinine is that?

Agreed. I was praised and bragged about constantly. What a catch! The perfect man! When she cheated all of those braggards stated WOW,he must have screwed up major! I bet he was a total dick the whole time! The reality was she had played me the entire time we were married and could never let go of the guy that took her virginity. Of course that little tidbit is never mentioned.

I was brought up in a female-dominated household (two older sisters and mother), and was constantly told how I'd make the perfect husband because I would wash dishes, clean, etc. (of course, I didn't really have a choice, either, as they were designated chores). I was also always reminded by my mother not to ever strike a woman, although, I always found it odd she'd never tell my sisters never to strike a man. Hmmmmm.

Coors "Code Blue" Ad [Re: stoltz]

I've seen this commercial a couple of times on TV, but was only half-watching it. This am while driving into work, I heard it on the radio and it dawned on me how it too is biased - slightly, but even the slightest bit is enough to continue the brainwashing.

The particular ad I heard gave a few accounts from people about a person (ALWAYS a man), who immediately upon getting a notification about a "Code Blue" would drop whatever it was they were doing and - usually in a "humorously" goofy way - run away (toward the bar). After hearing these "eye witness" accounts, a lady's voice is heard saying something like 'us bartenders know it happens every day around happy hour ... a MAN will get a message ...'

What I found interesting is that (1) it was always a MAN who was the character made to act goofy by dropping everything when they got a "code blue" message - never a woman, (2) it was a woman saying "us bartenders ...', giving the indication that they "know" the dumbness that ensues (i.e., position of more intelligence), and (3) that somehow it is only a MAN that indulges in the act of drinking.

It's interesting once you begin to realize how subtle some of these commercials are but at the same time create a biased undertone that furthers the agenda.
