And don't put in contacts after slicing jalapenos, even after washing your hands. The oil doesn't wash off, it has to wear off!!

Hey Mr.Revenge if I did not know better I would think
you were from Alabama (redneck capital of the world).

Have you ever been to Alabama??

Don't take them out, either. I learned that one the hard way.

Also, just wear latex gloves when slicing jalapenos. I didn't one time. It was a very strong one. My hands burned for the rest of the day as a result.

OK. So this weekend involved caulking in my bathroom. Now, I don't have all the nice tools some of you guys have, so I had to make do with what I could find. I needed to remove yucky caulk from a tub seam, and replace it with new
stuff. I didn't want to scratch the tub, so I looked in my kitchen for something plastic that was study. I ended up with a cake icing decorating spatula. Nice and firm, but plastic so it wouldn't scratch.
I proceeded to scrape out the existing caulk with the cake decorator, dry the seam up really well, wash it down with alcohol, and then re-caulk the seam. I'm not going to use the tub for at least a day and a 1/2 to let this stuff harden. It's been a nightmare! The guy who installed the tub in Nov already had to come out once to re-do the caulk. I figured I'd give it a try myself since his 2 attempts didn't work.

then, I re-did the caulk around the bathroom window. I used a wood chisel to scrape out the old stuff, cleaned up all the mess, washed it down with alcohol, and re-caulked. It came out pretty good. Except for the lower left corner. I have finger nails, and when doing that wet finger trick, my nails kept messing up that corner. I ended up adding a little more caulk in that area and just smoothing it out the best I could. damn nails!

We'll see how well my work holds up soon enough! Oh, and the washing down with alcohol was really me drinking a beer...

Now, somebody goto my truck and get my nail stretcher....

Later, after a few drinks, we'll apply that wet finger technique, lmao....

Hey GGirl,
Good for you for caulking your own window. I need to do this also, because as I was scraping paint, I accidently pulled out all the caulking. Whoops!!! Now I have made more work for myself. But I do like the washing down with alchol part. I will have to remember that.
