Divorce and bakruptcy

My husband and I are wanting to get divorced, but we have a lot of debt and two kids to support. How does bankruptcy work when combined with divorce. I am ready to be done with it..he is using bankruptcy as an excuse to hold on. Any suggestions? Also, is there any where on here to talk to people about the general stuff with divorce..ya know..someone to just vent with?
