My stbx and i own a house for sale .She has exclusive rights to the house and i am paying alimony to pay for the mortgage right now .My lawyer and i are trying to work out a settlement ,but the sale of the house is complicating things.She cant afford the house on her own and neither can i.I would like to give her the equity in the house for a reduced alimony amount ,but with the house not being sold i dont see how this can work.BTW, our trial date is set for august and she says she needs the amount she now recieves to live on while the house is on the market.I am really getting frustrated.Any ideas? Thanks
Get whatever you can agree upon on paper now, leave the rest or details for the court or mediation. Things will get more adversarial as trial begins and anything will get harder. R U paying court ordered alimony pending trial? Doees she work? More info needed.
