Where to start

I am looking for some simple help or just support. I have been seperated for 5 years and need to finally make the step to get divorced. Legal aid won't except me because of my income, I do not get child support so any income goes to bills and child expenses. I only make 20,000...but I live paycheck to paycheck. Where do I start? I've nervous about his actions even though we've been apart so long. I have picked up the paperwork from the court house and filled it out but very uneasy about the next step or what do I do first. Anyone willing to offer some friendly advice?
