do you KNOW how freeing it is to discover i can be ME? it's not about a girl being a [censored] after all!
its just saying...hey taryn (not really! i did NOT hear voices! ;) ) be you and like it. not in a stand offish way but in a 'im so content' kind of way.
it's about the fact that i like to wear hoodies and jeans all fall and NOT some tight boob showing shirt and being secure with that. it's knowing i like to listen to miley cirrus/hannah montana and singing the songs in the car with my kids.
it's about the fact that what i do for fun is fun activities with my kids, watching Grays Anatomy on tv, and tent camping. i like sporting events in real life but would rathing die watching them on tv. i like to spend an evening reading at home or sitting in my backyard by the fire (true, not a cliche), or having movie night with my kids and an old dvd. these are me and who i am in the real sense. nothing sexy about what i like but nothing fake either. being a [censored] is about not even batting an eye in wondering if theese interests are 'interesting' when talking to a guy!
being a [censored] is not bitchy after all! its wearing my eyeliner the way like i like it and if you think it's too dark...dont look. its liking sushi, breaded shrip and frozen pizza instead of pretending to like salad and broiled fish. it's eating coldcuts with mayo on white bread because i like it. and offering the same for a quick on the way out the door lunch and not apologzing that it's not roastbeef on a crossant.
it's fixing my own electrical issues within my ability and being happy with the results. but being willing to take help if the lights just wont go off. ;) and being thankful, but not indebted, for the help.
you know! i have been this way with every guy i havent cared the least bit about. one guy brought wine over and instead of washing out the dusty wine glasses or grabbing the dirty ones from the dish washer i said...oh yeah! wine! um...we'll hve to drink from these coffee cups...my glasses are in the dishwasher. and we both laughed. that was me in the flesh...not trying to impress or be standoffish. just me.
i cant put this book down.
all my marriage i listened to riducle and BENT! whenever i could. what foolishness. im SO happy to be the me i am and see how it works out in my life! you know what!? it's going to work out great!
and...any of you guys who want to come over and bring me some wine...i'd love it! but from now on...you'll probably get it i a coffee cup and ill be wearing an oversized guy hoodie and tight jeans. im saving the tight shirt and black boots a bit!...make you work for them. :)
LOL.
off to a FUN taryn night! playing uno with my kids while eating butter popcorn and wearing my tshirt and sweats.
its not sexy..but it's real and im comfortable with it!

Taryn, You sound like a wonderful down to earth kind of person. I'm sure there are PLENTY of men that would prefer you over a high maintenance type.
Sounds like that book is more about being yourself than being a bitc#. You should be happy with who you are, you're awesome!
Popcorn, in sweats, watching a movie, that's going to be my Friday night too and I'm looking forward to it. :)

I just knew everyone would love it if they just gave it a chance. It has been quite liberating for me. And I'm learning and growing from this experience, and I will be a much better person because of it.
This too shall pass.

Wow, taryn! You sound just like me!!! I would rather have a glass of wine and sit by my fire pit out back with my dog or on the front stoop and watch the world go by than go to some Cliche bar!!! I like the good things in life, but right now can't afford them and if I won the lottery, I'd probably buy a small country cottage and a couple of horses rather than some "Cool Pad" in a Cool city!!! I love camping and hiking and enjoying the earth we were put on! I almost never wear high heels but I do like flowing skirts with flip flops!!! Life is no longer about what I can do to please "him" but about pleasing me!!! Is that the exact name of the book and who's the author? Thanks so much for your post!!! Have a wonderful friday night!!!

It's good to hear you are feeling better. it is really freeing to figure things like that out.
Sometimes we try so hard to please others that we lose a sense of ourselves. I know I did in my marriage. I gave every part of myself to my wife and she walked all over my heart. I would have been better off just being myself and if she didn't like it then too bad. That's one thing I have learned through this process. It's not so much about being a [censored], but being yourself.

Is it just me, or does this woman sound like the perfect match for a Wisconsin lumberjack type outdoorsy he-man???

Dex, you sound just like me, except for the gender thing. It's too bad we didn't both someone equally as giving as we both are, then we wouldn't be here, would we. I need someone who gives not just receives (or should I say takes, or expects). Wanna move to Texas????

I am sure we'd have a hell of a time but I am a true Minnesota boy... I love snow too much.

We have snow! But wait, there's more, we also have hail the size of softballs, golf balls and quarter, fog, wind stormes when the sky look brown, sometimes toronados, and floods. Oh, and earlier in the year we had a drought (that was later followed by the 100 year flood - see how these things work out? See all the challenges? You'd LOVE it here! LOL
