this is my first posting on this site. how is it possible that the court settled my divorce requiring me to pay more in child support than i make. i started a new company 1yr ago and like new companies this one isn't turning a profit yet. for the last 10 years i made a low 6 figure income, yet what my support amounts were based on was 6 1/2 times the most i'd ever made. i have provided everyone with my last 4 yrs worth of w2's and the payroll i have taken this year. another mistake i'd made in the middle of this is i paid her the child support through banking transfrers not the support agency. because they will not give me any credit for the $40k i have paid to her this year. they now got a court order to liquidate all my account to payback this arrearage. in my situation i am more concerned with the amount of support i should be paying more than getting credit for what i have paid. i've been to my states website and based on a 3 yr average of my income i should be paying about 10x's less than i am now. unfortunately without the ability to access any cash i am having difficulty retaining a lawyer( i wouldn't use the one i had before) where is the justice in this
