I filed for divorce about 3 years ago but never followed through. I want to know if I need to refile this case. An answer was never filed, so would it be possible to file for a simple dissolution.
If there are no children and no joint assets for division, you can try to reactivate the case and ask for a dissolution. Was there proof of service the first time you filed? Call the clerk of the court and ask if you have to refile and start all over again. Have a copy of the first filing with you when you call.
