Went to court the other day..My lawyer & Her Lawyer sat and went over the child support guidelines..

But, I was.. a little confused, I thought due to the "Shared Parenting" where I have our son 42 % of the time..during the week..Thurs 6pm --through Sun 6PM
every week

Our income is very close, I may make maybe 5,000 more per year...

I don't get ..how could the courts allow this ?
Any thoughts

Could someone Please help me out with this ?

Has anyone out there had to deal with C/S
and how it is determined if it is based on SHARED PARENTING

Should I accept C/S guidelines ?

Or should 40% be deducted from the figure..factored in
that I am with my son ..6 out of the 14 days

Thoughts please

The state of MA has a "support" calculator on it's web site. Whoever is the "non-custotial parent" will have to pay the "custotial" parent something. The amount depends on each parents income over the past year and their potential to earn income during the next year.

I would advise you to either go on line and read the divorce code in MA or hire a lawyer. Sometimes a couple of grand out of your pocket now will save you several more down the line.

Not much help, but that's my ideas
