Hi, I am have been married almost four years. We are in Georgia now, but I am coming home as soon as the school year is out. We do not have any children together. We no longer live together. He moved out on Friday April 7. I am going to file for divorce in WA state since I will be there June 1. Can I file now? I still have my drivers license for there and never obtained a Georgia one. I am working here though and will be until I move. My husband has a pending lawsuit in the state of Georgia from a work-related incident. It is for 8 figures. My name is not on the lawsuit though. The incident happened nov 2 2004, and the lawsuit was filed august 2005. Am I entitled to half since everything happened while we were married? Please help me with this. Or if you know of an attorney who could help me and get paid when I get my share of the lawsuit. Right now I am working hard for hardly anything. Thank you

I don't really know if you can file now. You should get some legal advice here. Most lawyers in the state of washington don't work on a pro bono but since you have an actual lawsuit with money pending that might buy you a pro bono. Also most lawyers will give a free one hour consutation of which you probably can do over the phone.

The problem isn't the game; it is that nobody knows the rules.
