Not sure where to turn for support

I'm a newbie here, so bare with me....

I am in a relationship where my bf's ex-wife moved away to Florida about 6 months ago. She has a long history of drug abuse, violent arrests (2 federal incarcerations -- the last for attempted murder in which she tried to commit in the presence of their then 6 year old son), poor work history, etc.

My bf made it clear to her when she left them for the millionth time that that was it -- they were done and if she really wanted to move out of state then that was her choice and she'll have to face the challenges/consequences of that choice.

Since I've been in the picture, the ex-wife has decided to try to cause drama between us (sending me nasty threatening e-mails, claim that his son isn't his, threatening to kidnap her son away from bf, etc) and the threatening phonecalls got so bad that I finally paid to have the phone number changed and put down a retainer for an attorney.

Maybe she didn't believe us in the beginning or not, but after she made a second threat to kidnap the son, our attorney filed and won a ex-parte motion keeping him in MN.

That's when she decided to get her own lawyer...

You can never plan who you fall in love with and I certainly didn't expect to be dragged into the middle of all of this, but her lawyer is now trying to attain my full name and personal information for a "note of deposition". There was no reason listed as to why I am to be deposed, but this is getting really scary.

The worst part of it all is that she hasn't paid a dime towards her son's care since she left. I've been paying for whatever bf's income can't cover in regards to daycare, clothing, food, etc. That's what families are supposed to do, right?

I'm really scared and really nervous -- any friendly insight? Why would the opposing attorney want to depose me?
